The White Sox are a Sensitive Bunch

From the "most head shaking story of the day" files comes this beauty from Chicago's South Side. We touched on Ozzie Guillen yesterday, and to be honest, had no plans on bringing his name or his team up for a while. Then this story came out and I couldn't resist.

During a recent slump, the White Sox errected a shrine involving two inflatable blow up dolls and several well positioned baseball bats. Even more, reports are that the White Sox made no attempts to cover up the shrine when reporters were present. Since no lawsuits were filed, I can only assume there were not female reporters present.

Ozzie Guillen Doesn't Need Your Suggestions

The big difference between being a winning manager in the big leagues and a losing manager is your outbursts. When you're winning, you're considered quirky but when you're losing, they're called meltdowns. Chicago White Sox manager Ozzie Guillen has been the quirky manager...now he's just melting down.

Yesterday, when talking to reporters he unleashed a tirade:

"We won it a couple years ago, and we're horse[bleep]," Guillen said sarcastically before the Sox (14-15) lost to the Blue Jays 4-3 and fell below .500 for the first time since April 3." The Cubs haven't won in [100] years, and they're the [bleeping] best. [Bleep] it, we're good. [Bleep] everybody. We're horse[bleep], and we're going to be horse[bleep] the rest of our lives, no matter how many World Series we win."We have the worst owner (Jerry Reinsdorf). The guy's got seven [bleeping] rings, and he's the [bleeping] horse[bleep] owner."

He also proceeded to urge Sox fans to stop sending him lineup suggestions through the mail:

"Right now everyone in Chicago is making lineups — 'Call up this guy, call up that guy,' " Guillen said Sunday morning in a profanity-laced end to a pregame interview."If we had 50 people allowed on the roster, we could do that. That's what ticks me off about Chicago fans and Chicago media: They forget pretty quickly. A couple of days ago we were the [bleeping] best [stuff] in town. Now we're [bleep]."

He seems upset about not being as popular as he once was. So what's next? Does he get fired? And if so, does he grow a full beard and walk the streets of Chicago like Will Ferrell in "Anchorman".
