Rashard Mendenhall Has Had a Tough Week

Since being taken 23rd overall in last weekend's NFL Draft, Rashard Mendenhall injured his hamstring during the first day of mini-camp. Now, after spending a few days in Pittsburgh, Mendenhall hit his hometown of Chicago...probably to clear his mind, or whatever it is first round draft choices do less than two weeks after being drafted. You could say that it could've gone better for Rashard.

"Pittsburgh Steelers first-round draft pick Rashard Mendenhall was robbed at gunpoint along the Chicago lakefront early Monday, his mother and agent said.
The former running back was not hurt in the robbery, during which two people stole Mendenhall's wallet and cellular telephone, his mother, Sybil Mendenhall, told the Chicago Tribune."

Good to hear that he wasn't hurt. Between he and Limas Sweed, it would seem that (very, very early on) the Steelers are the winners of the draft. Two potential big time playmakers--football life is looking good in Pittsburgh.
